our town can boast of as good barbers as any other in the State.  Such men
as Bradley and Dorris handle a razor with a skill and facility that would
challenge comparison with their city brethren of the profession, and compare
favorably with them.  In fact we do not believe they can be excelled any
where for the neatness and dexterity which they ever exhibit." Egle remembers the prominent barbers "Dorsey and Nathans and Dorris."

notes: In the household of Eml Strominger, plasterer, three doors down from the Charles Dorris family. Note this this name is similar in spelling and age to the daughter of Charles Dorris, Henrietta. Both names are marked with an asterisk in the margin, and a line is possilby drawn through the daughter's name in Charles Dorris' household, or the line could be a low crossing of the "t." Did the Dorris family report their daughter, who was living with the Stromingers, several doors away, and the census taker struck out the original entry to avoid duplication of names? Or are these twin children, which would explain their similar names and ages, and the census taker merely made a notation in the margin for later reference?
