      RAN-AWAY from the subscriber, living in Gettysburgh, Adams County, on the 26th inst. a Negro man named BROOKINS, about 5 feet 5 inches high, stout made, round faced, and very black; had no cloaths on nor with him when he want away, but an old shirt and a pair of thicksett overalls.
      It is likely he will make for the Barrens of York, as he was raised there. Any person apprehending said Negro and bringing him home, or securing him in goal so that the subscriber may get him again, shall have, if 15 miles from home, Ten Dollars, and if a greater distance, the above Reward and reasonable charges, paid by
      JAMES SCOTT.
      June 30th, 1801.
      N.B. It is probable the above described Negro will be lame in one leg, as the wagon ran over him the day he ran away.

    A Dun colored Mare, with saddle and bridle, was taken up by the subscriber, on Monday evening, the 11th instant: She is about five years old, 13 hands high, and not shod: She was left by a likely young Negro Man, on his being pursued on suspicion of being a runaway: His clothes appeared to be nearly of the following description, to wit, a grey colored short jacket, lined or turned up with red, a pair of striped blue and white overalls, and a pair of white linen trowsers over them, a good hat, with a black ribbon round it. The owner of the Mare is desired to prove property, pay charges and take her away. July 19, 1791. (The Pennsylvania Herald and York General Advertiser, 27 July 1791.)

      RAN AWAY on the 25th inst. from the subscriber, about two miles from Petersburg (Little's Town), Adams county, a negro man named JOSHUA LINCH, aged about 25 or 26 years, 5 feet 7 inches high, stout made, has a scar on his breast occasioned by the cut of a stone, he is bow legged. Whoever apprehends said negro and delivers him to the subscriber or secures him in any jail so that he may get him again, shall receive the above reward with reasonable charges, if brought home.

      RAN away from the subscriber living in Adams county, near Gettysburg, on the 5th inst. a Negro man named HENRY HALL, about 5 feet seven inches high, aged 22 years; he is stiff in the loins, occasioned by the kick of a horse -- diffident when spoken to, and is given to lying. He had on and took with him, a brown surtout coat, one pair of dark linsey overalls, and one of striped tow, a fur hat, a pair of coarse shoes and a pair of fine do. with other articles of clothing not recollected. Whoever takes up said runaway and lodges him in any jail, on giving information thereof to the subscriber, so that he can get him again, shall receive the above reward and reasonable charges.
