May 30, 1794: L'Esperance has escaped, taking house furniture with him

Four Dollars Reward.
A NEGRO MAN, named L'Esperance, about 25 years of age, of the Congo nation, 5 feet 6 inches high; speaks very little English, ran away from his master the 27th instant.--
He stole and carried away with him one new green broad cloth coat, and many articles of house furniture. Whoever shall take up and secure the above negro in any goal, so that his may be brought to Justice shall receive the above reward. Enquire of the Printer.
