Christopher Densmore is curator of the Friends Historical Library at Swarthmore College in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania.  His frequently posted lists of Underground Railroad activities and events are widely read and shared, providing invaluable learning and networking opportunities for UGRR researchers.

When the Kennett Underground Railroad Center made the decision to reprint Dr. Robert C. Smedley's detailed study of the covert network, they chose Christopher Densmore to write the introduction.  Densmore's seemingly boundless knowledge of people, places and events associated with the topic made him a logical choice to evaluate Smedley's work in the face of subsequent scholarship.

In the course of working with Smedley's book, Densmore produced the following index for his own use.  He has graciously provided the following copy of his index with the caveat that "this was my own working copy and is not guaranteed accurate or complete."  He also asks that anyone who finds errors please report them:
