July 1824: Jim Maynard escapes from Prince George's County, Maryland

150 Dollars Reward.
Ran away from the subscriber, on the night of the 5th instant, Negro Jim, calls himself Jim Maynard, is about 29 years of age, six feet high, very nearly black, civil when spoken to, and carries himself very erect. I will give twenty dollars if taken within twenty miles of home, fifty if taken more than twenty, in the State or District of Columbia, and the above if taken out of the State.
