The following 83 men were members of American Legion Post 479, "Andrew Askins," Steelton, Pennsylvania.   The data was obtained from a set of membership cards found in an abandoned house by the Friends of Midland organization. The cards are dated from 1927 to 1935, and are believed to be a relatively complete record of post membership during those years.  No cards for the year 1928 were found with the originals, and it is not known if cards were kept during that year.

Andrew Askins Post 479  served the African American community of Steelton and vicinity, and the men listed here were all veterans of World War One.  The records below are abstractions of the data on the membership cards.  Where multiple addresses or occupations are indicated, we have listed in yellow the year of the card from which that data was abstracted.
